Odysseus a tale
of the Trojan War
Paris the young foolish prince of troy was in love with a
princess Helen the wife of Menelaus
the king of Sparta. Paris went and took her away. Menelaus was very mad so he
called the great Greek gods whom sword to defend Helen. Odysseus tried to break
the promise he had made to Menelaus by feigning insanity. Agamemnon, the brother
of Menelaus had proved that Odysseus was lying. So he and his men and army went
to the great city of troy along with Achilles whom was blessed in holy water by
his mother nymph only holding him by his ankle which made that his week spot the
only area on his body that you could slay him. Soon ten years of fighting and
the war had passed. Odysseus who was the favorite advisor of Agamemnon came up
with a plan to trick the Trojans. Odysseus wanted to make the Trojans think that
the Greeks had lost their nerve and went back to Greece. The Greeks had made a
giant wooden horse to give to the Trojans as a gift called the Trojan horse.
Little did the Trojans know that the Greeks where all hidden inside the horse
and in the middle of the night when all the Trojans where all asleep the Greeks
and Odysseus came out of the horse attacking and killing the guards of the city.
Odysseus and the Greeks had won the Trojan War. Sadly in the war Achilles the
invincible warrior was slain by Paris shooting one arrow into his heel. Odysseus
and his men went home to Ithaca to live. Only one of them would come back. The
journey home for Odysseus would be very dangerous with terrors beyond imagine.
There are several morals for the story of the Trojan war one is that everyone has a weak and no one is invincible. Achilles has a heel that was never touched by holy water because his mother was holding him by that heel when she dipped him in the holy water. one other is wars are caused over little things that gets whole country's involved and everyone dies. because Paris took Helen away from Greece and took her back to troy. the moral is many who die deserve life and many who live deserve life only we can give that to them.
