Greece has had many famous people that have achieved great things for its country in ancient times. A very famous man named alexander the great the king of Macedonia. he was born on July 20, 356 B.C. in Pella, Macedonia. alexander united the Greek city-states and led the Corinthian League. alexander was king of Persia, Babylon and Asia, he made Macedonian colonies in Iran. Alexander died of malaria in Babylon, Persia on June 13, 323 B.C. Another very important person in Greek history was Aristotle Ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle. He was born circa 384 B.C. in Stagira, Greece. He enrolled in Plato’s Academy. In 338, he started tutoring Alexander the Great. , Aristotle founded his own school, the Lyceum, in Athens, where he spent most of the rest of his life studying, teaching and writing. one more famous Greek person was Socrates was born circa 470 BC, in Athens, Greece. we have learned about him by the things his students wrote about him. His students where Plato and Xenophon. When the politics had gone for a bad turn , Socrates was sentenced to death by hemlock poisoning in 399 BC. He preferred this rather than to going into exile.
